Since 1992, Positive Direction for Youth and Families (PDY&F) has worked to fulfill its mission to embrace, empower, and equip community members with skills, information and resources to achieve success in every area of life. In the past year, with a core focus on eliminating food insecurity, PDY&F has turned an empty field in northeast Greensboro into a thriving volunteer run Community Garden that provides fresh vegetables for the PDY&F Food Pantry.

Community volunteers of all ages have come together to dig garden beds, plant seeds, pull weeds, construct a greenhouse, harvest vegetables and prepare food for distribution. With plans to construct additional greenhouses and begin an aquaponics program, the PDY&F Community Garden will continue to expand their positive impact.
