Acrylic on Canvas

Teresa Wiles earned her BFA from the University of North Carolina in 1997. A native of North Carolina, Wiles completed commissioned work for the High Point Furniture Market and Weaver Construction. Wiles’ portrait of her grandfather, Robert W. Blevins, demonstrates her use of high-keyed color and geometric forms.

As a fine artist, her experimentation with new mediums includes papermaking, collage sewing, painting, sculpture and bookmaking, supporting her philosophy that materials should not restrict artists. In 1996, Wiles received the Sam Jones Long Award for Women’s Studies.

Her exhibitions include shows at The Marshall Gallery and Art League Gallery in Greensboro. Additionally, her work is in private collections throughout North Carolina.
