Local nonprofit Neighborhood Markets, Inc. is a partnership between The People’s Market and The Corner Farmers Market. Both markets collaborate on Green4Greens, a program that doubles SNAP customers’ buying power on qualifying products such as baked goods, produce, meat, eggs, herbs, and plant starts for the garden. The popular program not only makes it possible for SNAP recipients to buy fresh, local food at affordable prices, it also increases income for vendors, most of whom are small-scale entrepreneurs who count on the money they make each week to put food on their own tables. If you want some great food and a chance to support our community visit:
The People’s Market – 1417 Glenwood Ave. – 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm – Thursdays April through October
The Corner Farmers Market – 2105 W Market St. – 8:00 am to 12:00 pm – every Saturday
