Founded in 1995, Horsepower Therapeutic Learning is a unique nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding instruction and equine-assisted therapy for over 300 community members with a variety of special needs, including autism, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease and mental illness. Horsepower also has a program for military veterans.  Instructors are certified by Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), an international organization that has 8,000 instructors round the world who are trained to address physical, cognitive and emotional challenges, using the power of horses to build strength, independence and confidence.

After a successful two-year capital campaign, Horsepower recently opened a new facility on Walpole Road in High Point. Weaver Foundation is proud to be a long-time supporter of Horsepower and we look very forward to seeing how their new facility will enable them to scale their services further.
