Acrylic on Canvas

By 1976, George A. Keck received both his BA and MFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). He remained there as a design instructor, and served as the Weatherspoon Guild Education Coordinator at the Weatherspoon Art Museum on UNCG’s campus.

Keck painted Wall/Window 1; Faculty, in response to his earlier work and studies on the development of the wall and window. For this piece, he used acrylic paints while implementing a technique typically used with watercolors. Through Keck’s thin acrylic washes, value and intensity give the canvas a rich luminosity.

Keck’s paintings, collages and photographs have been exhibited in the southeast since the early 1960’s. His artwork has been widely collected both privately and corporately in the Piedmont region of North Carolina.
